The “GHS – Coaches & Players Reunion” was initially created as the “A.L. Curtis – Coaches & Players Reunion,” in an effort to reconnect former athletes, coaches, managers, trainers, and fans who served or cheered under the direction of Coach Curtis. The reunion initially also featured a most charitable component in the form of an annual scholarship for one (1) graduating member of the football team, as well as one (1) manager/trainer for the football team. As a greater need was identified regarding student financial hardships and the provision of financial support, the Reunion Advisory Board deemed it necessary to assist in the provision of multiple scholarships within multiple areas. As Coach Curtis served as Athletic Director and guided athletic activities in all sports, the Advisory Board thought it best summarized his service by aiding in all areas of sport as well. Thus, the GHS – Coaches & Players Reunion was established, now offering five (5) scholarships.
